First Video!

I am so excited and a huge thank you to my wonderful daughter Kate and son Harvey for all their help and filming. My first ever video is live on You Tube!

We filmed it during a couple of beautiful days at Goose Farm, where we live in the Worcestershire countryside.

It was made originally for the children at Staunton and Corse Primary School who will be making clay leaves as part of their 'Arts Week'. The wonderful Eastnor Pottery will be firing them for them. I am sure they will have a lovely time.

I really hope you enjoy it.

Holly Williams

I have just had a brilliant evening in Birmingham with my daughter Kate. Thank you so much for taking me.

We started the evening with yummy cocktails (non-alcoholic) and gorgeous food at Milano an Italian restaurant. The evening just got better when we went to the Glee Club and saw the amazing singer songwriter Holly Williams.

Holly Williams was accompanied by a very talented beautiful, young lady (sorry I cannot remember her name).  We were incredibly lucky to have her husband too, fellow musician Chris Coleman who was also touring with Kings of Leon and had come to visit her for just 2 sessions. It was so lovely seeing them together and she is 6 months pregnant! Huge congratulations.

After a brilliant evening listening, we then were able to buy goodies off Holly! This is my very special CD that we listened to all the way home.

We also need to say a huge thank you to everyone at the Glee Club. I was in a wheelchair for the evening and they reserved us front row seats (we were literally 3 feet from the band). We did not book the seats till Thursday and we were escorted in and out of the lift at the back and felt like royalty! It was our second visit but we are definitely going again!

The Gardens at Highgrove

We just spent a wonderful evening at Highgrove, touring the gardens after Pimms! (yummy)

The event was hosted by Sanlam and they were trying to raise funds for the excellent charity 'Send a Cow.

After the really interesting tour of the gardens we were spoilt with scrumptious nibbles and drinks. We also watched a very informative video and were given very generous goodie bags.

The evening reminded me of our last visit when we had a champagne tea to celebrate my 50th birthday.

I am so proud too of this  wonderful letter too from HRH The Prince of Wales.

Lifecast model request

As many of you already know, for my ceramic art I make torsos using moulds. I am currently working on some new pieces and I’m looking for a new model to be lifecast. Would you or someone you know be interested in becoming a piece of art? You would be paid to be a model for the day and the lifecast will be led by my son who works as a special effects artist and regularly lifecasts professionally for film and television productions. It would take about half a day for a couple of casts to be taken which will provide me with moulds that I will be able to make several copies from. If you are interested, or want to ask any questions please send me an email to litsmith@mac.com to discuss further details. Thank you for your time : )

Lit Smith's first ever newsletter!

I am so excited because I have written my first ever newsletter. If you do not do one, it is really easy, so have a go. Like many, I used MailChimp. Their tutorial videos were extremely useful. They have slightly strange names for things. Here is my first 'Campaign' (newsletter translated).
It was strange starting, but once I got going it was fun. I decided to give people a glimpse at my mad world. If you would like to join my newsletter group, please click here and to unsubscribe hereI think realistically I will only probably manage to write a new one every few months, so you should not get too inundated by emails.
